A site to record both thoughts and facts on the incredible destruction of life that FAITH in MOST religious beliefs has inspired over the course of history.
War of the Gods

Elohim, Jehovah, Yahweh, and Allah are but a few of the names that various religions use for God. Though each religion has differing beliefs, creeds, rituals, scripts and teachings they all seem to have one thing in common: Love thy God and only thy God. Through this oddity of love, hate by some tends to be directed towards those who love a God of a differing faith or who have different beliefs regarding race, sex, and the rights of all humans to express themselves in their own way.
But who actually are these Gods? How did their names or images become a part of humanity's existence? The best I can tell they became incarnate through human beings that were fortunate enough to be blessed by some type of personal contact or vision and were inspired or directed to "spread the word".
I have yet to find a religion which teaches that human beings are perfect. Is it not possible that over time their original visions, dreams or words have morphed into a "it's my way or the highway" philosophy? Yet without exception each of these great religions teaches above all to love.
The number of deaths associated with religion or wars started over differing religious beliefs or intolerance is staggering. It is estimated that since the beginning of recorded history over ONE BILLION people have been killed do to these conflicts. That is equal to approximately fifteen percent of the earth's current population. Ouch. Is it not humanity's pride that has turned the love of God into a selfish hatred of those who do not share the exact same beliefs? And what religion teaches to put pride over love?
I guess it takes a lot of love to kill a billion people.
